Family Learning
Next Steps
Welcome to Family Learning
The Family Learning team run a variety of free, online courses and workshops for parents and carers of children across Buckinghamshire.
Our courses are designed to help parents understand how they can best support their children throughout their Early Years and at school.
We offer a range of Early Years courses and workshops for parents and their children up to the age of five years. These include, among others: Fun with Stories, Play and Learn Together, Story Explorers, Let’s Get Crafty and Little Music Makers.
For schools, we offer courses that cover all aspects of English, Maths, Science, Crafts, Cooking, Supporting your Child’s Wellbeing and Internet Safety. All our courses are designed to give parents more confidence in supporting their children at home, making learning fun and understanding new teaching methods used in schools.
Our courses are fun, practical and parents who start one course with us often choose to come onto more. Parents attending our courses are also encouraged and supported to start developing their own skills so that those who are thinking about returning to learning, or those who are looking to boost their skills in preparation for returning to work feel ready to take the next step to achieving these goals.
Our courses for school-aged children are for parents only, whereas our courses for Early Years are for parents and children (aged between 2 and 4 years). Our courses are always enjoyable and helpful.

I just thought I’d say how brilliant this course is and it really does benefit both A and I, so thank youJ. I’ve really taken on board today’s session and will definitely use it day to day. Thank you again.
I was unsure about joining but the course is so much more than I expected. I definitely feel like I’m learning.
Wendy was such an inspiration; she delivered her course content in such detail, supporting all the learners to progress and with such enthusiasm and joy!
